Versluis Park beach (website)

The swimming area at Versluis Park will be closed for the season beginning Oct. 4.

The beach area and rest of the park will remain open.

The park at 3650 Versluis Park NE is currently open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, with the exception of Friday, when it opens at 10 a.m. for weekly maintenance. Entrance to the park is free, and Versluis Lake is considered “swim at your own risk,” which is consistent with most inland lakes in Kent County and many beaches along Lake Michigan.

Versluis Park features a beach, swimming area, fishing pier and boating opportunities on a 50-acre lake. Other park amenities include playground areas, picnic facilities, horseshoe and volleyball courts, restrooms and a 1-mile paved walking trail.
