Township Sets Sights on New Strategic Plan

Strategic plan

The Plainfield Township Board on Aug. 9 began the conversation around a new strategic plan and heard an update on the current plan, which goes through the end of the year.

The new four-year strategic plan will include major initiatives similar to those in the current plan that focus on areas of economic growth, infrastructure and quality of life. Major initiatives under the current strategic plan include the Reimagine Plainfield plan and proposed construction of a new Community Center.

The current strategic plan also has supported increased funding for road improvements, continued investment in parks, including the opening of Grand Rogue Park, and regular communications with the community through print and email newsletters.

The Board adopted the Township’s first comprehensive strategic plan in 2016, which followed the creation of a mission statement, guiding principles and vision elements that serve as the basis for setting policy direction and strategic goals and objectives. Two years later, the Board revisited the strategic plan and developed a process to keep it focused and relevant by refreshing it every four years in the year following an election of the Board.
