Board to Consider Bid for Proposed Rockford Trail
Board members will consider a bid to build the southern portion of the proposed Rockford Trail during their July 26 meeting.
The three bids ranged from approximately $635,000 to $660,500 and were reviewed by the Township’s staff and trails engineer. The low bid of $635,000 by Brenner Excavating will be recommended to the board.
This portion of the trail will stretch along Kutshill Drive, Brewer Avenue and Kroes Street from Rogue River Road to Jericho Road. If approved, construction is expected to begin in early September and be completed by late October.
The project is being funded by the trails millage approved by voters in 2016. The Township’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee plans to expand the northern portion of the trail along Jericho Avenue from Kroes Street to the White Pine Trail when funds are available.
