Trustees to Consider Proposed Updates to Zoning Ordinance
After a virtual public hearing at its Jan. 26 meeting, the Planning Commission voted to recommend that the Board of Trustees approve the proposed updates to the Township’s zoning ordinance and map.
The Township Board plans to consider the changes at its Feb. 22 meeting.
The updates are intended to make the zoning ordinance more user-friendly by clarifying definitions to reduce confusion, adding visuals to help residents better understand regulations and providing links to related content for easier navigation. They do not reflect any potential changes that may be recommended by the Reimagine Plainfield committee’s development plan expected to be completed this spring.
The zoning ordinance is used to regulate land use and development in the Township to protect property values.
