Where do my property taxes go?

Under Michigan law, the Township collects taxes on behalf of other taxing jurisdictions and distributes them. The majority of property taxes paid by Township residents help fund schools, county services and the Kent District Library.

Only 13% of your tax payment stays with Plainfield Township to fund local road repairs, law enforcement, fire protection, parks and other Township services. Below is a breakdown of how property taxes are distributed.
