Current Openings:

The Plainfield Township Governance Committee is accepting applications for openings, for terms beginning January 1, 2022, on the following boards and commissions:

  • Brownfield Redevelopment Authority (BRA), 5-9 positions.  The Plainfield Township Board of Trustees created the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority (BRA) under the authority of the Michigan Brownfield Redevelopment Financing Act (PA 381 of 1996, as amended). The authority provides a mechanism to support the cleanup and redevelopment of Brownfields (properties that are, or perceived to be, environmentally contaminated or underutilized). The BRA is comprised of 5 to 9 members appointed by the Township Board of Trustees and are anticipated to meet monthly or on an as-needed basis and prepares a plan that identifies the brownfield projects. Each project section of the plan includes the description of the eligible property, the eligible activities, the TIF approach to be taken and other issues related to the subject parcels. The authority then makes a recommendation to the Board of Trustees.  Candidates interested in serving on the Board should have knowledge and interest in the fields of finance, environmental issues, development/redevelopment, and a commitment to the successful retention and attraction of businesses in Plainfield Township. The  Authority may be seated with members who are both non-residents and residents of the Township.
